My work life has taken me to various corporate, small business and fundraising settings. And then I launched my own venture in 1999. Through out all of these various settings the essential organizing interest has been tracing the triumphs and failures communication and cooperation; it is really at the heart of how we move forward or stay stuck and whether or not the business succeeds.
In my consulting I focus on process and organizational issues driven by change, either within organizations or in response to external concerns. Coaching – working with people to clarify their focus and then to develop the capacity to act with skill and grace in a new way – is also a way of coping with change- change that needs to happen, or has been forced up us. In all these instances, every job I’ve taken, every change I’ve made or bucked at making, provides me with the compassion and creativity to help someone else make their own exciting and complex discoveries.
The explorer in me has taken me to new cities and to many remotely traveled areas of our greatest National Parks. Along the way I’ve also worked in wide range of settings –- from libraries, a rare book dealer, direct mail fundraising and advertising at Wunderman and McCann Direct, and marketing and process management at American Express – to that of entrepreneur, consultant and coach.
